Hi, I just moved in my new flat. I have been told online when I ordered virgin media that I was eligible to get fiber optics. So, I received the quick start virgin media 3.0 But! I don't have any fiber optics main wall socket. I have a BT and a Ntl socket with the "old ADSL socket".
Should I ask for an engineer to come and fix a new virgin socket?
Why would Virgin says that I can get the quick start when I am don't have fiber optics socket?
Is it a way to get money without providing the service? By the time I get an engineer etc.. 2-3 weeks will be lost for me. Paying for nothing..
When you think about it. Virgin can get a lot of money for no service provided.
Yes. an existing cable point from NTL, Telewest or any other cable company should work. You don't need any fibre-related sockets as the fibre only runs to a cabinet nearby, not all the way to your home.
Understood. If there is definitely nothing to connect a coaxial cable to, get in touch with VM to arrange an engineer visit.
When I moved in to my current house I was sent a quick start kit by Virgin as the property had cable in the past, but all the sockets had been removed since then so an engineer was needed to fit a new connection.
