Hub update setup

Just got my new Hub 3.0 today as an update and it says on the front of the quick start guide that I need to call a number in 7 days to get online services. what is that? I am not on a phone so cannot call, the hub update page said nothing about needing to call anything to set it up. can I still use the internet without calling the number? what do I do about this?

I just assumed I would unplug the old one and plug the new one in and that would be it? If you can help me out I would be very grateful.

Re: Hub update setup

I know that it needs to be activated I want to know if it can be done without access to a phone as I do not have a landline and have a pay as you go mobile and don't want it to eat up all my credit.

Is there an alternative method to activate it?

It's an 0800 number which are free from all UK Mobiles including PAYG (and have been for 18 months https://www.ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/latest/media/media-releases/2015/call-charges-clearer-from-wedn... )
