After negotiating a better deal and getting a Tivo box, I also received the 3.0 hub as well.
Installation of the Tivo box was fine, the new hub, not so!
After over 4 hours, it's still flashing green at the bottom of the hub - I've tried switching it off twice but still no luck.
I did ring the activation line as that was the first thing I did before doing anything else.
Is there anyway of solving this without having to get an engineer out? Having to use my mobile for tethering!

Yes, everything sorted and working fine now - seems it was a faulty modem according to the technician (replaced it with another).
Whilst I'm here, I forgot to ask him to take the old equipment. Will it be best to contact someone to arrange for it to be picked up or can they be taken down to the nearest recycling centre?
