Contstant disconnections and T4 timeouts

I'm seeing symptoms that match exactly those posted here: http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/QuickStart-set-up-and/Frequent-temporary-loss-of-internet-connec...

I called VM a couple of weeks ago and got the usual "reboot router, take it out of modem mode, try again, and again, and again... ...oh looks it seems to be working (for a couple of minutes), let us know if you need anything else, bye!".

Here's what the SH 2ac router status is showing (and constant cycle of T4 critical errors basically:

Your losing an upstream channel, although the stats you've posted are fine.

Ill flag it for staff.

Thanks Kippies.

I might add that when it "settled" after the last time I tried with support, both upstream channels stayed on 32 QAM, but au ignored it since I was getting my 10 Mbps upload speeds so not overly concerned.

I seems like it's maybe a noisey upstream and periodically two channels of 64 QAM are attempted and I get stuck in this cycle. The problem for me is when the SH gets a T4 it becomes unresponsive for a good few seconds, and this is happening once a minute, so internet experience is poor at best.

Also, fwiw the downstream power levels are all at least 2 dB down on what they were last time I called support.

Upstream has settled using 64QAM for now:

Sorry to see the connection problems you're getting at the moment.

 

Something certainly isn't right, checking today I can see time-outs and misreports. I think it'll be a good idea to get an engineer around to check this out.
