Connection dropping out frequently

Hi

We've experienced the broadband dropping connection regularly a few times a week over a period of several months. On the last engineer visit a few months ago it was mentioned that the connection in the box outside was corroded but nothing was followed up.

Depending on the weather conditions, rain, dry, cold or mild it seems that I have to unplug the power to the router and either remove the 6db attenuator or replace it on the cable to be able to get a connection.

What can be done to resolve this issue before we consider getting a better broadband deal elsewhere?
