Re: Connecting a superhub 3 that you bought online

The person has sold you property that does not belong to them, as it belongs to Virgin Media. It can't be made to work and you should return it and ask for your money back.

...and a Hub 3.0 won't improve your speed if your hardware is the issue (reference your previous thread).

Re: Connecting a superhub 3 that you bought online

technically - it's Won't not can't.

VM could make it work if they wanted to, but they won't as it is against their supply policy. So you just bought a brick. if you paid via paypal on ebay you may get your money back, but you may have to threaten seller with police involvement first.

From other thread reports, a paypal claim for defective goods / not working goes through more smoothly than a claim for stolen goods,

much debated elsewhere - but VM are partly to blame. there is no PROPERTY OF VM  / NOT FOR RESALE label, and many call centre staff, & VM engineers will allegedly say ( of older kit) we don't want that back, do what you like with it .

Ebay has hundreds of live listings for VM Hubs & Tivos, so there's not concerted effort to stamp this out. I have never ever read of anyone being prosecuted for reselling hubs, or TIvos.

Re: Connecting a superhub 3 that you bought online

Hello Monsterbeats19,

Thank you for posting Smiley Happy

I can see you've already had some great support from other forum members, but I just wanted to come in and support what you've been told.

Unfortunately we're unable to activate any equipment that wasn't assigned to your account, by us. The equipment you've purchased from eBay would be active on another customers account.

Please seek advice from eBay on how to get your money back and inform the seller that they will need to return equipment back to us.

Thanks again,

Take care.
