Cannot factory Reset SH3

Hi,

I am not able to login to my routers settings page. When inputing the password I get an 'incorrect password' message

I have tried numerous times to reset the router with no apparent success.

  • I've held the reset button for over a minute when the router is both powered on and not powered on.
  • I have made sure I am inputting the correct password found on the bottom of the router
  • I have tried logging in on different browsers
  • I have cleared my browsers cache and cookies

I have seen people with similar problems to mine, however there seems to be no fix.

Anyone else had any luck with this problem?

Re: Cannot factory Reset SH3

To reset to factory, please take a look here.

Resetting your Virgin Media router

Select device as "Hub 3.0"

Virgin dropped the "Super" part of the hub name after Superhub 2AC.

Hope that helps in resetting your device, any further issues please reply here and we will try to be of assistance.

Re: Cannot factory Reset SH3

I have followed the instructions from the link above but still no luck. Every time I reset and try to login using the password found on the bottom of my router I still get 'password is incorrect' message

Re: Cannot factory Reset SH3

I know it sounds silly, and asking the obvious, but the password is case sensitive... so capitals need to be entered as capitals and lower case entered lower case etc.

please confirm you are entering case exactly.

Thanks

Re: Cannot factory Reset SH3

Not silly but my default settings password is only made up of numbers

Re: Cannot factory Reset SH3

The trick I found is to hold the reset button in until the Hub 3 lights jolt together. Then the factory reset is in force.

Re: Cannot factory Reset SH3

Thanks, sounds counter intuitive... but try the wifi password as the password

Re: Cannot factory Reset SH3

Tried the wifi password as well with no luck.

I have seen the lights 'jolt together' whilst holding in the reset button in but it will still not accept the default factory settings password

Re: Cannot factory Reset SH3

Then there is a faulty Hub.
That jolt is the sign of the factory reset. The VM bods when they get to this thread may well arrange a new Hub. Mine resets OK.
