I have recently signed up to Virgin and the access point is on the other side of the living room. My wife wants me to clip the cable up and around the door frame but I wasn't sure if it was possible/a good idea. It's obviously a bit more robust than a telephone cable so I wasn't sure if I would damage the central core by bending it at right angles??
Your concerns are right. Stiff coax like VM uses should not be bent through a tight radius. It can distort the internal dialectric which will alter the natural 75ohm impedance of the cable leading to various issues with the signal.
