Can I actually get VM installed or is it a lie?

I've been told I can get Virgin Media at my new address, so I took advantage of the cheap deal on at the moment. But does the 'you're in a Virgin Media area' notice even mean anything?

I'm reading a lot of horror stories about installation. Getting broadband set up always seems to take longer than it should, but I'm more concerned that the engineer is going to come to my property and not be able to install, as I've read in a few posts. It's a ground floor flat, and theres a big green/brown metal box less than 20 meters away.

My landlord mentioned they've previously been told Virgin can't be installed at the property. Why would this happen? The flat behind me has Virgin Media I live in the centre of Bristol by (not on) a main road. Anyone care to share their experiences? I want to know now so I can cancel rather than wait 3 weeks to find out.

Best wishes,

Contacted VM. They confirmed it can't be installed. Worth checking.
