We are aware some customers are unable to opt out of the Advanced Network Error Search (ANES) using the online option.
We are currently working to resolve this issue but in the meantime you can either contact Web Chat or call the our technical support team on 150 from a Virgin landline or alternatively 0345 454 1111.
If you'd prefer us to get this done for you please pop a post on this thread and one of the mod team will contact you as soon as we can.
This issue should now be resolved.
Please opt out using your home connection on this website https://my.virginmedia.com/advancederrorsearch/ and if you have any problems please let us know.

Hi
I've read that you're supposed to visit this page https://my.virginmedia.com/advancederrorsearch/settings in order to stop the hijacking, but after clicked 'No' i get a page not found error page. this has been the case since May.

Sure as its a setting on the account, but thats not something you can personally do about it, like i suggested just changing your DNS server to a more reliable one will resolve the error search issue, but the question is, if you type an invalid domain why wouldn't you want it to provide search results to help you attempt to find the correct domain?
Just curious as to why you would even want to specifically disable this feature, you're still using the virgin DNS servers which can still technically hijack DNS records at their whim should they ever choose to do that

There is another thread on this forum where people have been asking for the Mods to turn off DNS highjacking, and they have been doing it.
Suggest you ask there
