20 downstream channels

Got up today sh3 was offline not for long but when it come back on I had 20 downstream channels instead of the 10 I have had.

Re: 20 downstream channels

Ssshhhh!   They'll all want one.      Smiley Wink

How about Upstream, have they increased too?

Just noticed, those downstream power levels are rather high, they shouldn't exceed 10dBmV

Re: 20 downstream channels

Upstream is still on 2.

I was told not to worry about the power levels unless they go above 15.

Though it's only the extra 10 Downstream levels which are showing over 10 the other 10 have never been above.

I find that very strange, usually -6 to +10 is the range.? I take it you have no problems with your broadband.?

Dont forget the cold effect of winter and therefore the reduced resistance , hence >+10 dBmv

Re: 20 downstream channels

The only problem I have is the high utilisation that's been going on for 26months and counting.

Bloody hell this is the 1st time I've hit this kind of speed for sometime

5962176946

5962182898

Will see how things go because I haven't had speeds like that at this time for several months.

Things don't suddenly stop working at +10 dBmV. The -6 to +10 dBmV downstream range is to allow for varying levels of SNR down to 34.5 dB.

The higher the SNR, the more out of range the power levels can be and still work well. So +11 dBmV at 38 to 40 dB should be fine as the SNR is very good. Each 1 dB increase of SNR is an order of magnitude better than the last. 43 dB SNR is insanely good.
