Well i cant connect to the inernet on my old comp.
And now its the only comp i have.
So i need to get it working.
I have borrowed a comp for a week or two at moment.
The last time i rang up to connect it to internet.
the lady said im missing somthing like a driver ?
I cant remember what she said.
So how do i go about checking whats up with it ?
Shall i just ring customer services again and ask them to connect me ?
Then that person will find out whats wrong again ?
I look forward to your reply.
Kind regards sandra.

well on the old machine are you trying to connect via usb or Ethernet? (eg on the end of the cable is it plastic or metal) can you also post what version of windows your running etc xp/vista?
when the cable is attached hopefully Ethernet, on the bottom right hand corner of the screen do you see an icon for local area connection? if so when you hover your mouse over it what does it say.

hmm this could be an issue with your Ethernet controller, to check this if you do start --> right click my computer --> properties -> hardware -> device manager does it show any device with devices with a yellow or red next to it?

I just changed over comps befor your last post and now am back on borrowed comp.
I started up old comp and all came up was a box saying put your install disc in now.
Theres no connection tab thing in tray at bottom. So cant hover mouse over it.
I will do the above post in morning now.
So if theres anything else you want me to check then please say so befor morning.
Oh and a big thanks for your help so far.
Dont know if this helps
But i had a virus and my son had to reinstall windows about a year ago.
And never used it since. sadly..
Befor all that,My comp worked perfectly.

Hi again paul
Ignore the last post as i did what you wrote just now.
I got into device manager and there was nothing with a red or yellow next to it.
I hope this helps.
But it seems bad news to me ?
