Question ? why can I build a bundle on- line and get a decent deal, as soon as I phone customer services I am quoted more than double for the same deal because I am an existing customer.
With my present package and my 2 mobile phones I spent over a £1,000 per year with virgin,,,I think its time to give mr murdoch a call

Because the deals on the website apply to new customers, its how marketting works, you aim for new customers, just speak to retention and say you want to cancel they usually want to keep customers, sales have no incentives to keep an existing customer they will get paid commission for new ones.

just cancel, you go through a procedure and one of them directs you to retention. I did it and now I get a £22 reduction on my bill "loyalty" discount or something.

Just a marketing technique. It's scandelous, however it's only using a loophole which is easy to counteract.
There is no rule saying they may not advertise certain deals to new customers only. However under the Sale of Goods act (same goes for services) they are obliged to provide the exact same deals to any customer, new or existing. Certainly a useful one for your car insurance too ![]()

Where specifically within the act does it say that?

why bother - just move elsewhere. Virgin don't deserve the business.

Sorry but that is complete rubbish. There is no such clause in the Sale of Goods Act.
