virgin hub 3

Hi I have just switched from virgins  super hub router to virgin hub 3.

I now cant get my onkyo 616 surround amp to connect to the internet.

I know it the router as I tried on my friends super hub and it connected first time with the onkyo app..

Anybody any ideas how I could fix this thank you.

Re: virgin hub 3

Hello

If you are trying to connect via wifi and it won't work you could try the following steps:

1.  Use a device that is connected the router with internet access

2.  Go to the browser and type the ip address of your router (all info on your router aswell as you tube videos showing you a walkthrough on how to do this)

3.  Divide the 2 wireless frequencies, the hub 3 operates on 2.4ghz and 5ghz ( 2.4ghz more devices are compatible with this frequency and it also has better range/coverage.  5ghz is a faster speed when you are beside the router but not every device will be 5ghz compatible).

4.  Once you have saved the settings so you can identify the 2.4ghz i.e. call it your surname or add 2.4 after the VM with the number then try reconnecting your device.  Just to ensure you don't receive any conflict issues, I would recommend changing the password aswell.

Hope this helps and goodluck

Re: virgin hub 3

Hi the surround amp is connect by an Ethernet cable and dhcp
The address shows in the routing table but won't connect to the internet or connect to Onkyo app
Like I said it connects first time with the older virgin router but wont with hub 3

Re: virgin hub 3

Trying to connect with wired Ethernet cable with dhcp address
It's got to be something to do with the hub 3 as it connects straight away with older super hub
