iPad drops wifi all the time

My iPad keeps dropping wifi. I thought it was my iPad but I just went away for a week and the iPad was totally fine on bt wifi.
I have a router 3.0. My other devices (iPhone + mac) do not drop connection.
Help?

Re: iPad drops wifi all the time

Hello Laura885,

Thanks for posting and a warm welcome to the forum Smiley Happy

Sorry to hear about the wireless problems you're currently having. I wonder if you've tried to change your wireless channel yet? If not, this will often help with problems caused by wireless interference. Could you please have a go and let us know if it helps.

Hope to hear back from you soon,

Take care.

Re: iPad drops wifi all the time

Hi. Thanks for the link. I have the 3.0 hub so turned it on/off to reset the channel. It's possibly a bit better but still dropping. Planning to try setting a channel manually.

I've just replied to your other post suggesting you change the channel and I forgot we're talking her!

Good to hear that you've noticed some improvements.

Keep me posted.

Re: iPad drops wifi all the time

Hi.
So I tried turning the 3.0 router in/ off and there was some improvement. But I still have to turn the iPad wifi on/off several times a day when connection drops.
If I change the channel manually, what do I change it to?
Thanks

Re: iPad drops wifi all the time

Hey Laura885,

Thanks for a quick reply Smiley Happy

You might need to try a few channels to find the one that performs best in your environment. It took me 3 channel changes before I settled on a channel, you might find that a wireless scanner will help you as it can point out the channels that are already in use.

I hope this helps,

Take care.

Re: iPad drops wifi all the time

Make sure your 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz channels have a different SSID. If it's an iPad 3 or later it should be able to pick up the 5 Ghz channel which is much less congested as long as you are not too far from the Hub3. What could be happening is the iPad is hopping between the two channels.

Thanks for the advice. I changed channel manually, and so far so good. 😀

Change back to Superhub 2 .Problem solved

Hub 3 full of issues with dropped connections,DHCP problems.

most obvious on modem mode

Re: iPad drops wifi all the time

It was just as bad on superhub2. It was the initial reason why I changed to superhub 3.

What I liked about superhub2 was the ability to choose which device connected to 2 or 5Ghz. On superhub 3 this control isn't available???
