Hello, We've had our router/hub for a good few years now but today I've noticed the plug is very hot and making a buzzing sound. I've unplugged it for overnight. Do I need a replacement hub or just a new power cable? It's the original Superhub we have. Thank you.
Yes you did right to unplug it when its unattended, it sounds like it has become unstable. Hopefully a member of the Forum Team will pick this up and arrange to send you a replacement power supply, although if you've had your hub for a long time you might be able to make a case for a newer hub. The bad news is that the latest Hub3 is not a great success story as you will gather if you read some of the threads on here, but if you can persuade them to give you a Superhub 2ac you will be in clover.
Ah great, I'm glad I did the right thing! I plugged it back in this morning and the buzzing is worse so I'll have to rely on my mobile data for a little while I think.
Thank you for your help.
We get constant drop outs throughout the day since around September (not great when you're trying to work from home), so not all that impressed with VM right now anyway. If we get a rubbish hub on top of these problems, it might mean the end of our long relationship!
