Windows 10 issue wireless network not visible

Good Evening,

Adding this post if somebody else has got a problem with Windows 10 where your  Virgin Broadband network isn't visible in the WiFi list.

Problem:

Got today a new HUB 3.0 from Virgin. Smart phones connected without any problems. Unfortunately laptop model ASUS A8 with Windows 10  wasn't displaying my Virgin Broadband in the WiFi list.

Solution:

I connected to the hub over a Ethernet cable and logged on to the build in settings utility.

The utility is available through any browser if you type in the IP for the hub, 192.168.0.1.

Ones connected using the password from the hub go to "Advance Settings" > "Wireless Signal" in here disable 5Ghz option.

Click Apply changes.

The SSID - WiFi is now visible.

Hope it helps.

What happens if you restore the 5G service in the Hub 3?

The behaviour you described should not have been the case.

Re: Windows 10 issue wireless network not visible

The problem with the 5GHz was in the driver of my WiFi card. Windows 10, by default, won't find a newer  version of the driver. I had downloaded a newer version of the driver from manufacturer's website.

After the update  I could see the HUB with 5GHz setting in my WiFi list, but not before.
