Wifi is slow and dropping. Has been happening for over a month now.

For over a month now my Wifi has been dreadful. Problems include slow connections and dropping of signal.

I cannot play any online games as when I open the game, after 10 seconds I will disconnect from the internet the same goes for watching videos on Youtube etc. My other devices are fine (Xbox, Phone and Tablet) i get no issues with gaming on the xbox. I also cannot download ANYTHING without disconnecting.

The problem lies with my Desktop PC which is using a wireless adaptor. I have been using a TP Link for years without issue. I have spoke with your help team twice over liver chat. Both time they "boosted my signal" which helped a tiny bit, I could then download without disconnecting by my speed is so slow compared to usual.

I have bought a brand new wireless adaptor, a faster one and it has not done anything to help the situation.

I do not know what the issue is with my PC and wireless.

Re: Wifi is slow and dropping. Has been happening for over a month now.

The power levels you posted look OK, all within the recommended ranges.

The evidence you have provided so far does seem to suggest the fault lies with the PC, VM broadband support staff on here can't really provide PC tech support.

Is the Xbox also connected via wireless or Ethernet?  Just checking it is a comparable connection.

As you have changed your wireless adapter and it has made no difference then it could be an issue with the OS on your PC (Windows 10 by any chance?) or the physical location of the PC is no longer conducive to getting a good wireless signal.  Although if your phone and tablet are OK in the same location as the PC then that seems less likely.

Are all wireless devices and the PC connected to the same band i.e. 2.4Ghz or 5GHz.

There is a sticky post at the top of this board with good advice on improving wireless:

Re: Wifi is slow and dropping. Has been happening for over a month now.

I have seen a few threads on here and elsewhere about issues with wireless on Windows 10.

The obvious thing is to check you have the latest drivers for your wireless adapter.  Sometimes uninstalling and then reinstalling a driver can help.

You could try a search on Google for your wireless adapter model and Windows 10 to see anybody else has had a similar issue and maybe found a solution.
