Just put your hub into modem mode temporarily you'll see that you can connect OK through VM

I've been banned from websites I was setting up when the host's protection systems kicked in wrongly. When reporting it, the agents I spoke on occasion tried to pass the blame, but it was on their end.

Ethernet cable into the bottom Ethernet port closest to the coax, with the IP address being http://192.168.100.1 to go to the GUI

Your connection is reaching the server as shown on the 16th hop, do going well outside the virginmedia network

@Dash1645 - With respect, if you are going to post a tracert, please post the tracert to the actual site.  Here's what I get when I run a tracert

C:\Users\timdu>tracert -4 www.ecws.org.uk

Please post a tracert to your site address as above.

Inidentally, you may not be aware of this but your site is also accessible over IPv6 Smiley Wink (Admittedly Virgin haven't yet deployed IPv6 but it's nice to see your host supports it)

Trace complete.

Just throwing it out there as a fun fact.

To be frank if I had a pound for the number of users I've helped who have been told by their host that Virgin are blocking them when in fact the block is at their end, I'd be a rich man by now.  Sometimes you have to persevere.

Start by posting the correct tracert though so we can see it, but based on the fact that you can at least get to the hop before your actual site IP, I would say it's definitely being blocked at their end.

Tim

Re: Website host server Ip blocked by virgin media.

Hi Dash

You may know little about web hosting, but the web site is very nice.

As a rule when you do a tracert always try and tracert to the domain name, as this allows us to see DNS that the DNS is resolving properly as well.

I apologise if my tone came across a bit snarky, but we have some experience with diagnosing these issues, and trust us, if we found information in the tracert's to find Virgin was at fault, we don't hesitate to say so.

I am glad you're able to connect again.  If you have any more issues, please come back and we will do out best to assist you.

Tim

PS - I couldn't build an Electricity Network yet, but given time, no doubt I could learn. Smiley Wink

@ravenster68 building it is one thing. Keeping it running without it exploding when you turn it on is where i might have a problem Smiley Happy
