Re: Super Hub security

From what I have read so far it is only affecting the Super Hub 2.

Hi

How do I know if I have a Superhub 2.  The news recommendation is that we change settings/passwords...how do I do that?!!

if you connect to your Superhubs IP, mine says "Welcome to your Virgin Media Super Hub 2"

easier still, its written on the bottom with the serial number Smiley Happy

Re: Super Hub security

i am assuming that the BBC and other sites "news" is a non story and is based on the hub 2 having  a known default password of changeme , or admin . I forget with as I am on hub3.

it emanates from which .co.uk who I would not trust to debug a toaster. Ill informed luddite scaremongers

Re: SUPERHUB 2 HACKING WARNING

just wrap it in a "Keep Calm and stop believing the fake media" T shirt Smiley Happy

there's nothing in there that's worth hacking - your wi-fi password ? - pointless to steal that as its too feeble to reach the front garden  in most installs

Re: SUPERHUB 2 HACKING WARNING

Look on the bottom of the router. It will tell you.

Re: SUPERHUB 2 HACKING WARNING

I don't get that message when I log in; and all those long serial numbers on the back of the hub (not underneath) mean nothing to me!

Re: Virgin Media urges password change over hacking risk

I've not received any communication from VM on the subject, not that it's earth shattering news.
