Very slow page load, speed of connection testing fine....

People - just had a very unrewarding discussion with a VMB 'tech', clearly not going to get resolution through formal channels...

We now have (2 months) a Hitron CGNV4-BIZ on a  200Mbps service, with fixed IPs. Speedtest.net tells me all is well, but in practice loading web pages takes a long, long time. Once the address has been resolved, it'll wait for a long time to connect - for example, simply loading this forum page took 30 secs. Once it gets going, content loads OK but certainly not at impressive speeds. If it's not DNS, it seems to be some routing issue as I've run WinMTR to various domains and there are always several instances of 100% packet loss through VM network servers.

Have been running PingPlotter and this tells a similar story.

Testing to every domain I've tried shows near identical 100% drops at two points in the route.

Can anyone give me any insight into where they think the loading speed and packet dropping issues originate?

Relieved to see somebody else has a similar issue. Speed test says the speeds and ping are fine, but web pages are taking a long time to load.

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your Business services, I appreciate this is frustrating. I'd really love to help but we're only trained to support our residential customers here on the forum. Heather, thanks for getting in touch.

You have a fair amount in comming with VMB - they aren't trained to support business customers either.
