VPN router under Hub 3 - Firewall Changes?

Hi Guys,

so I am setting up a VPN on a modified router. this router will sit as a second access point plugged directly into the hub 3. I have heard the likes of BT have been known to scupper VPN connections, but unsure if this is the case for Virgin.

Anyway, I need to know if the firewall on the Hub 3 is configurable enough that if it blocks by default the comms I can unblock the port IP combination, or, if the firewall is merely on or off!

Re: VPN router under Hub 3 - Firewall Changes?

Hello Jeeb

Welcome to our forum, It is possible to forward ports for nominated IPs, we have a handy guide here Setting Up Port Forwarding and Port Triggering on your Virgin Media Hub although some of the older insecure VPN protocols are blocked.

Hope that helps

Can you elaborate on on "some of the older insecure VPN protocols are blocked" ? Also, does disabling the firewall remove that block ? All my PCs have their own firewalls.
