SuperHub 2 constant connectivity issues

TL;DR: Hub needs resetting daily with manual channel changes in order to connect to 2.4GHz & I'm close to throwing it out the window!

Main PC & Phones in the house have no issue with connection; main PC is wired & the phones connect to the 5GHz frequency, however the two laptops in the house - one of which is for my son & his GCSE course work can only connect to the 2.4GHz side.  EVERY day, without fail I need to login to the superhub settings & change the channel, as each time a laptop tries to connect it'll show "connected, no internet" until I've done the above & sometimes, a full router reboot.

This is tiresome & not what I pay for, a small extract of my router error log:

Auth Fail - Web login failed.

And that is only a small part of it!

I'm at my wits end. I've been with Virgin for 7 years & have had CONSTANT issues, from needing a line pull that took them 18 months to admit that we needed, to this, there's always something that causes me undue distress.

Re: SuperHub 2 constant connectivity issues

The troublle with the 2.4Ghz band is that is narrow and is prone to interference from neighbouring wireless networks and a host of domestic appliamces like A\V Streaming Devices, Baby monitors, Chordless phones, Microwave Ovens, Plasma TVs, Security systems etc. It is nicknamed the Junk Band with good reason.

If there are a lot of competing wireless networks in the area, then other will be having the same problem and trying to resolve the problem by changing channels. So, one channel might provide some temporary relief untl a nearby network changes channel to interfer with yours.

Personally, I would look at getting some 5Ghz capable USB wireless adapters for the laptops.
