Super hub or virgin blocking iptv

Hi guys. I've been running plex through a nowtv box for a while. I connect to a remote server and also have a paid iptv sub too. Up until weds I was able to watch all library vids and live tv. Now I can only watch library items. I have tried the nowtv box at another house and it works perfectly for iptv, It also works connected to my mobile phone through a wireless hotspot. I have even swapped boxes at my house but to no avail.  read to turn superhub2 into modem mode and this worked fine but when back in router mode the problem was still there but all my other devices connected by cat cable still work..

I have been told that the problem must be with plex or nowtv but how can it when it works on other connections.

Re: Super hub or virgin blocking iptv

You didn't say whether or not the 'other connection' was VM and with what hub.

Also what settings on Your SH2 might have changed?

Re: Super hub or virgin blocking iptv

Sounds like your Router mode IP address has been blocked, when you switch to Modem mode it gives you a new IP and switching it back will return you to your previous IP, you'd have to contact Now TV for this but I would guess that it will be difficult to get hold of anyone who knows what you are talking about

Re: Super hub or virgin blocking iptv

Other connections are wired and wireless from vm router. No settings in hub have changed. I can access library stuff from plex server but not iptv.

Re: Super hub or virgin blocking iptv

Hi

I'll reiterate what DannyLau has said.

Based on the evidence you have given it looks like it's IPTV that have blocked your router IP.  You need to contact them and ask them if to check for any blocks.

You can find your public IP by going to Google and typing IP in the search field.

Re: Super hub or virgin blocking iptv

They mean the external IP of your Superhub when it is in Router Mode.

Re: Super hub or virgin blocking iptv

Please remove your external (Public) IP from this public forum. It's not a good idea to publish it.

All Virgin Media IPs are dynamic but VERY sticky. It is unlikely to change.

You will have different IPs in both Router and Modem Mode.

I'm not an advocate of allowing changing blocked IPs anyway as this just passes your problem to someone else.

You need to resolve your blocked access yourself.

Re: Super hub or virgin blocking iptv

Generally, no- it can't be changed. It might change by accident if you leave the hub switched off between lease renewals. You can change it by putting the hub into modem mode - that gives anew IP address. If you keep it like that for a week then go back to router mode you might get a new IP. Or get your own router to put behind the hub in modem mode.

But you need to get to the reason for the IP address being blocked - if that's the case. So you need to get in touch with their IP support to find out what's what.
