Super Hub 3.0 will not connect to Samsung Smart TV

I have a new Super Hub 3.0 (VMDG505). All my other wireless devices are connected but my Samsung Smart TV (UE32H6410SU) will not connect.

The TV will connect to my old router (Talktalk) so I know there is no problem with the TV.

Re: Super Hub 3.0 will not connect to Samsung Smart TV

I'll need to test this when I get home.

I have a very similar TV, the UE32H6400, which is the same aside from the stand. I am connected to the SH3 via a wireless repeater (And currently a TP-Link Archer C5 as the SH3 is in modem mode), then an ethernet cable between the repeater and the TV. This works fine(It worked fine in Router mode too) but I can try Wi-FI to see what happens. Can I ask what's happening? Is it not finding the Wi-FI SSID at all or failing to connect? Is this with combined or separate SSID for 2.4 and 5ghz?

Re: Super Hub 3.0 will not connect to Samsung Smart TV

Hi. thanks for replying.

I am seeing the wireless network, but unable to connect to it. The router settings are as delivered. I am unsure of your point about combined or separate SSID for 2.4ghz & 5ghz.

Re: Super Hub 3.0 will not connect to Samsung Smart TV

Hey astat101,

Thanks for keeping your thread up to date Smiley Very Happy

Good to hear that you've now successfully connected your smart TV, I know they can be fiddly, it took me a while to connect mine over Christmas.

If there is anything else we can help with, then you know where we are.

All the very best,

Take care.

Re: Super Hub 3.0 will not connect to Samsung Smart TV

Hi there

Reviving this thread as I am having the exact same issue.

I used to have a Superhub 1 which connected perfectly to my Samsung Smart TV. Ever since being 'upgraded' to the Hub 3, unfortunately I can no longer get the TV to connect wireless to the hub (wired connection works, as do all other devices). I spent hours on the phone with both Virgin and Samsung, however no solution.

Sometimes the TV picks up the network, then when I input the password nothing happens. Other times, it won't find any networks. I have previously used a Netgear extender, have tried this as well but no luck.

Hopefully someone can help sort out this issue, it's been very frustrating and I now have a long ethernet cable running through my living room which isn't ideal.

Many thanks!

Re: Super Hub 3.0 will not connect to Samsung Smart TV

I am having the same problem. Ever since we upgraded to super hub there is occasionally wifi but it's too slow for apps to work and sometimes nothing at all. It's so frustrating. Have tried resetting router and changing security but to no avail. Really need some help please.

Re: Super Hub 3.0 will not connect to Samsung Smart TV

Hi nadin and Radams,

Apologies for the issues you're both having with your TV connecting to your Hub.

Hub 3 has it's wireless frequencies, 2.4GHz and 5GHz, named the same by default. Separating them by naming them differently (just putting a 2 and a 5 at the end of the existing name will suffice) should resolve this.

  • Please access your Hub by following the instructions here.
  • Go to Advanced Settings
  • Wireless
  • Security
  • Put a new name next to the WiFi Network Name (SSID) for both frequencies
  • Click Apply Changes

Hopefully that'll sort it out but keep me updated Smiley Happy
