Settling period and ping rate

I've had the vivid 100 installed just over 24 hours ago. My internet connection hasn't reached over 65mb but I get my full 6mb upload speed. The best ping rate has been 20ms but it's usually around 120. What should I do to get a better download speed and better ping rate?

Re: Settling period and ping rate

I have a wired connection and I've tested it though my PS4 and mobile websites. I've also turned the equipment off and turned it on after 10mins.

Re: Settling period and ping rate

I don't have a pc or laptop, is it essential I test it on a laptop? During peak times i read somewhere that the download speed shouldnt drop below 81 if I'm on vivid 100? What are the acceptable speeds for the vivid 100?

Re: Settling period and ping rate

its the only real say to get a good idea of speed. Wireless can;t be used and i'd never trust a PS4/xbox at speedtests the ways they check can often be wrong

VM sell the product on an "up to" basis. They don't specify a lower rate. If you are in a contended area you may well see speeds a lot lower than 100.

Re: Settling period and ping rate

Hey Tizzmanizz,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community Smiley Happy

Really sorry to hear that you're experiencing slow speeds.

To be able to correctly diagnose this problem we would need to get  hard-wired test results, this is to establish if this is a wireless issue or a fault with the general connection. if you need an Ethernet cable, let me know.

I've checked your Hub and I'm not seeing anything out of place at the moment.

Hope to hear back from you soon,

Take care.
