I was just wondering whenever I trace router any ip, how come I go through north core (nrth-core-2b-xe-002-0.network.virginmedia.net) I live in the east of england (Colchester) therefore I'm nowhere near the north, but closer to London.

You don't. nrth = Northampton.There are enough of us in the north with electricity, etc, that VM cant put us all on a single 'core' so can't have a 'north' core

The way ‘core’ routers work you could in fact go almost anywhere! Although this is not generally the case and you stick to the same route.
Oh that's easy. It's not in their power to fix it, even if it were they can't fix it and, apparently, neither can Intel.
