Router in modem mode problems

Put my friends router in to modem mode and used a new separate dsl router , due to ip being blocked , but now we are getting intermittent internet , have not spoken to virgin yet as spent so much time trying to resolve original problem , and this was supposed to resolve this problem,
Any one with simmiler problems

I am sorry but I notice that the transmit levels from the hub are a bit too high:-

 

    52.3 dBmV        52.3 dBmV

 

Unable to say for definite that this is the problem but probably best to bring them back in spec. I will send you a forum private message to arrange an engineer appointment, please reply if you would like one.
