Re: Remove devices from my wifi

hiya @tammieinnes welcome to the virginmedia community forum, with the hub you cant manually disconnect people from the superhub, you can block them using the mac filtering -> http://help.virginmedia.com/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=27649&CURRENT_...

or if you want to disconnect all devices you can change the wifi password -> http://help.virginmedia.com/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=27564&CURRENT_...

Re: Remove devices from my wifi

Since my Super Hub arrived - it has shown two Kindles on it's Wifi device list. I haven't connected my Kindle - so am wonder what they are? I have changed the network name and the password but these devices persisted - can anyone offer a way of removing them?

Re: Remove devices from my wifi

After more carefully examining my devices - these MACs are my Amazon Echo Dots.

Is it possible to rename the item on the screen with the MAC addresses - because tracking the mac address back to the super name it's picked up is annoying - because the Super Hub is reporting the device names are Kindle-followedbyanumber - when they're not Kindles and I can't see the number elsewhere.

Re: Remove devices from my wifi

A much easier way is to use the app Fing on an android phone (not sure if  available for iphone)

Lets you see everything connected and to name the devices as you like.

Re: Remove devices from my wifi

Hi @markc52,

Sorry if you've already had an answer to this, however I didn't see anyone respond. You can change the name of a connected device via the home page of your router settings.

You do this by going to http://192.168.0.1 and logining in with your router password. From your settings homepage, you can change the name of a connected device by scrolling down to the Status Overview section and clicking the name of the connected device you wish to change. You can also select what type of device this is if your settings haven't detected the device correctly.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Brian.
