Problems with ub 3.0 Connectivity

Can anyone shed some light as to what the problem with my broadband connection might be?

The current problem started last Wednesday, a faulty hub was diagnosed and a new one sent last Friday, however at that time the hub was fine. On Sunday last the connection failed again so the brand new hub was installed. VM Helpdesk are aware and an engineer is scheduled for this coming Sunday. The connection is fine for varying periods of time but then the hub goes off and the base light flashes green, the WiFi and double arrows flash green and occasionally red. After some 5 - 10 minutes the hub returns to normal operation with the Base light solid white.

This hub 3.0 is only two days old and the previous hub 3.0 was new in Nov 2016 after a hub 2.0 failure caused it to be replaced with a 3.0. When the hub is working I can get download speeds > 100mb/sec and upload >6.0Mb/secs.

Suffice to say I am pretty hacked off at the speed of response to problems (>6 days for an engineer) and the ongoing connectivity issues.

Here are the recent Network Logs: -

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0 Connectivity

Channels 2 & 3 are of the scale, this will possible passed go networks so might take a bit longer to fix, depends what happens when engineer shows up

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0 Connectivity

Hi Paul,
I'm not quite sure what you mean, however any tests done by the VM help desk have always pointed to the Hub. Will you advise the engineers to look at a particular part of the network?

Please clarify.

Many thanks
Ian

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0 Connectivity

The superuser group most of us don't work for virginmedia we help answer posts the best we can based on knowledge, as for signal levels your downstream and downstream signal to noise ratio (SnR) too low, am answering this on my phone you could read the sticky post at top snr premiere wrote by septh
I would be advising the engineer of low signal levels taking a record of these for references

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0 Connectivity

Thanks Paul, would the low SnR levels indicate a problem within the VM cabinet outside my house or would they be on 'my side' of the installation?

Thanks

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0 Connectivity

can be caused by both, but mainly cabinet/network end
