Port forwarding virgin hub 3.0

Having very weird port forwarding issues with the Hub 3.0.

On the hub 2.0 i was able to forward ports with ease, however on the 3.0, I keep getting errors stating that "The local ports have been added as virtual server already, please try another one".

Specifically i just want to forward some average ports to my home server, like multimedia, SSH, email and web but i cant even manage to forward port 80.

My question is this intentional behavior, is it a bug or am i not doing something correctly?

Re: Port forwarding virgin hub 3.0

Hello wezmeister101

Welcome to our forum, sorry you are having difficulties with port forwarding. I wonder if it because TCP port 80 is the standard for browsing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TCP_and_UDP_port_numbers

Thank you

Nicola

Re: Port forwarding virgin hub 3.0

Hi Port 80 is the port used for the http protocol. (Web browsing)

I want to port forward this port to my web server.

This is basic networking, should be able to do it on the hub.

Re: Port forwarding virgin hub 3.0

Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to post on the community.

My apologies you are having issues with Port Forwarding on the Hub 3.

Have you tried to add the Ports in ascending order by any chance?

If so, did this work for you?

Let us know how you get on

Sam

Re: Port forwarding virgin hub 3.0

Came back to this thread because i've tried to forward something else and it still doesn't work. What do you mean by adding them in ascending order? I need to forward port 3306 now.

Re: Port forwarding virgin hub 3.0

Hello chris_61

I am sorry but we have an issue with port forwarding on the Hub3 at the moment, our firmware team are aware. A way around it would seem to be adding ports in ascending order, that is lowest port number first working towards the highest Setting Up Port Forwarding and Port Triggering on your Virgin Media Hub

If you find that does not work it may be worth trying a reset and starting again Resetting your Virgin Media Hub

Thank you

Nicola

Re: Port forwarding virgin hub 3.0

AARRRGGHHH Just had a new virgin install and hit this.

This is really NOT GOOD as an initial experience. Surely this is an OBVIOUS capability to TEST!

Is there any fix/patch? fimware that can be pushed out?

I can forward a diff port higher up I guess but seriously.
