Port forwarding SH3

I've done the assigning the MAC address to an IP, done the forwarding, but the port won't open.

I'm trying to set up a VPN connection to my house through my raspberry pi, but it's dependent on the port being open on the router, and it just won't open. Any ideas?

Re: Port forwarding SH3

Hi JayDee5,

Thanks for getting in touch, I am sorry to see that you have been having trouble with Port forwarding.

Take a look at Setting Up Port Forwarding and Port Triggering on your Virgin Media Hub, and let us know how you get on.

If you do get stuck let us know which specific step you are getting stuck at and we will take a further look.

All the best

Emma

Re: Port forwarding SH3

Well I've already done all that stuff and it did nothing. I know HOW to port forward, it just isn't opening the port no matter what I'm doing. I never had this issue when I used to use a 3rd party router.

Re: Port forwarding SH3

So there's no way of doing this with the SH3? Very poor.

Re: Port forwarding SH3

I've tried it turned on and turned off and it doesn't work either way.

Re: Port forwarding SH3

have you reserved the ip address first before setting up the port forwarding numbers? once the port forwarding numbers have been saved, you will need to reboot both the device and router.

I am a virginmedia employee but all opinions are my own.
