Port Forwarding on Hub 3

I have followed all the advice on here on how to open specific ports on the new superhub 3.

The last point of call was to the helpdesk on Sunday. Got to Level 2 support to be told he couldn't help as they had not been trained on the new hub and I would get a call back. Still waiting so I called back tonight to be advised Virgin don't support port forwarding and it general terms I have to live with it.

All I want to do is access my Plex media server when away from home. I have no trouble when I am contacted to the WIFI but as soon as I am away or any member of my family try and sign on they cant see the server.

I never had this issue with SKY.

I have used several tools to check the port is open and all come back negative.

I have tried with firewalls on and off too.

Any advice more than welcome.

Not going to work on its current firmware. Port forwarding along with other stuff is messed up. however the on next Firmware port forwarding and Upnp do work.


200Mb(SH2 SH2AC Hub 3.0), 2 X V6 TV XL, Phone M. 100Mb Business (Hitron Hub).

Sorry no info on that yet. Its currently in test stage.

so I am stuck with a router and service that doesn't work and not supported by Virgin apart from on the forums.

Other customers in your situation have spoken to VM and got a super hub 2 or 2ac sent out instead.  Suggest you give them a call and see if they can do the same for you.

just been told there is no firmware issue and there is no problem wit port forwarding. However, they can't support me as they do not support port forwarding!!

There is an issue with port forwarding on the current public firmware. The issue is not present on my own Hub 3.0 as i have the test firmware.
