This has most likely come up before plenty of times. However, the dates on the previous posts tend to be a few years old now so looking into what I need to do to achieve SSH into the house for when I'm on third-party networks I'd rather shell out of.
Port Forwarding = on - Port 22 to 22 - assigned to local IP which is statically set so the VPN/SSH machine's IP always remains .28 internally and the port forwarding assigned to this IP. That said, port 22 still closed from outside... VM blocking port 22?
Not just port 22, looks like VPN ports are also blocked (L2TP, 500, 1701, 4500).
Unless there's a secret option I'm not seeing I'm assuming VM is blocking on standard ports?
Okay, got it working - switched the firewall off and setup port filtering.
Next - the other ports are configured 100% the same way, followed the same steps in getting 22 open but they're still closed. Bit of an odd ball this hardware, never these problems with the old VM modem
