Really frustrated now, been having this issue for about 4 months now. Have to wait on the off chance that they get themselves together and fix it by march the 8th.So disappointing, a company like this, doesn't care about peoples service and can't spare an engineer to fix an issue that has been going on for months.
Oh really? I thought they all used the same cables so switching wasn't an option. It's just the fact that virgin are the best provider in terms of speed. Blows my mind that I new there was and issue they told me there wasn't, 2 months later they realise there is.

why do you think other isps cant provide the same speed as virgin because of the cable, and oh dont get me started on this, im now suffering peak time congestion too between 5pm-1am and virgin seem to think nothing is wrong, if thats the case why is it at peak times, i will end up in the same boat as you, luckily for me, my contract is up in 3 days, and virgin offered me a crappy deal to stay, so i mean il be leaving myself.
Told it's going to be early may now. Any details would like to know it all. I was told it would be fixed by the 8th and its not. Another 2 months in top of the 6 months previous to that. Then to give me only £8 off the bill a month. Appalling.
In regards to high peak time traffic faults, these will have review dates as they can be subject to change due to the work that is required to improve bandwidth. This can include implementation of additional upstream and/or downstream channels, hardware upgrades at the CMTS, re-siting of street cabinets, digging up of roads/paths etc. which require planning permission.
I can imagine how frustrating this must be considering the delay and I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused.
