Packet loss/ Latency / Ping Issues

Hello,

I'm getting packet loss in the day and in the evening. I've done a thinkbroadband monitor and its showing up as I'm loosing packets, I was wondering if somebould could tell me when this will be fixed in my area.

Thankyou Smiley Happy

Re: Packet loss/ Latency / Ping Issues

Hi NathanT22,

Thanks for letting us know that you're having ping spikes throughout the day and  in the evenings also, I apologise for any inconvenience.

I have tested things from this side and I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, no errors or time outs inside the Hubs logs and all of your power levels are within the preferred ranges.

I also checked your area cable for any issues and that also tested great, showing no errors and all the signal levels are correct.

Are you still having these issues? If so, could you please respond to me here with a Trace Route within command prompt for me to have a look at.

Also, how are you connected wired or wireless?

Take care,

Thanks,

Adam.

Re: Packet loss/ Latency / Ping Issues

Hey, there is an issue because I contacted virgin media on the phone the other day and spoke to the line 2 broadband team. the advisor couldn't find anything wrong until he went into my downstream and upstream. and he Said there is a problem as I can see in the evening your getting bad issues. but he couldn't do anything because he said something about its classed as a minor issue because nobody else has complained about it in my area as much. so there is a problem and it needs to get sorted out asap, I'm on a wired connection, I even did a wired speed test when I rang the advisor team and I was getting 16MB download speed.

Re: Packet loss/ Latency / Ping Issues

Hi NathanT22,

Thanks for responding to me! I appreciate you providing the information I requested, this has been a big help to diagnostics.

I have had another look over the connection and all is still clear, no errors or time outs and your area cable looks great as well.

It may be a good idea for you to set up a Think Broadband monitoring graph and post back here in a couple of days with a copy for us to look at.

Take care,

Thanks,

Adam.
