One computer on home LAN keeps losing web access

My home LAN has my desktop ethernet connected to VM Superhub2 ac.   My laptop is connected to an Ethernet switch which then connexts to the Superhub2 ac.

On startup both computers can access web pages and the Superhub settings.   Sometime later the desktop Chrome or Firefox browsers will not open any web pages or if they do they might take five minutes or so to open any pages.

Both computers use Windows 10 Home 64 bit.  Using Speedtest I get 219.07Mbps/12.28Mbps.

I use AVG Internet Protection paid for version but even with this disabled web pages have the circling arrow and do not open.

Anyone able to help?

Ian

Re: One computer on home LAN keeps losing web access

Its your desktop nic then - check the easiest things first

ping the loopback address

check the cable it might be faulty

check your windows event log

check for new nic drivers

as a last resort reset the tcip ip stack using the netsh int ip reset command!

I should have also said that my desktop has a reserved IP address in the router.

Re: One computer on home LAN keeps losing web access

I should have added that the desktop computer has Wi-Fi and when the web page problem occurs I can connect using Wi-Fi

My desktop has wi-fi so when the problem occurs with the web pages I can activate the wir-fi and it always then opens the pages
