New Super Hub 3 dropping connection

Hi

I have recently had my Superhub 2 replaced with a Superhub 3. The old hub kept dropping connection on regular occasions and for the past few weeks I've had the new hub it seemed fine until I noticed my WiFi security camera kept dropping connection. At first I thought it was the camera but then my phone would do the same thing. I started a ThinkBroadband test to see what the line was like and it seemed ok but still having Wifi drop outs (PC stayed on which is wired). So I reset the router (which kept giving me an message saying my box was being updated.) I am still having this issue and today I started to get full disconnects where my router restarted itself.

Here is my Thinkbroadband graph:

I am just looking for some advise as to what could be causing this?

Thanks

Re: New Super Hub 3 dropping connection

Authoritative ForumTeam response is currently upto 8 days.(the more you impatiently bump the lower down VM's work list you'll thread will descend)

Otherwise "volunteer peer group support" as and when....

If you need faster response then 150 or 0345 454 1111

In the interim -  your DownStream is running a tad hot at ~10dBmv (+/-1) and thus a tech visit is probably required anyway(unless you have a 6dB FPA handy to insert inline with cable feed to Hub) but then optimizing your tap in cab/pit would be preferable which will require a tech anyway. With 20 D/S channels and only 2 x 16QAM U/S (typically expect 64QAM upstream with 20D/S channel plan so there may be some upstream noise that's capping the modulation), I suspect that an upgrade to Cisco CBR-8 may still be in process but you'll need to post at least first 3 octets of the CMTS-MAC address so we can check against Vendor /Manufacturing lists.

Re: New Super Hub 3 dropping connection

Hello darrenrichie,

Thanks for getting in touch Smiley Happy

Apologies for the connection problems you're experiencing.

I've just taken a look and I can see that we have a short term general area fault on-going right now, which is causing either a total loss or an intermittent broadband and TV service.

However I agree with horseman that your power levels are also out of range.

I'll drop you a PM (purple envelope, top right) so we can keep in touch, this area fault is due to be resolved by this evening so I'll check back in with you then and if necessary we can book a tech visit.

Catch you soon,

Take care.
