Nas Drive Problem

Hi All

I have a Seagate NAS Drive which has been connected my Sky HUB and was showing as an second computer under Network on my Windows 10 Home PC.

Now had Virgin Installed and connected the NAS to the router and it does not show up. If I run the Seagate discovery tool the drive is found and it shows up as unknown on the device list on the modem, I can type in the IP Address and go into the drive settings.

The device is also showing up on my smart TV.

Have also tried it through an TP-Link router and the same scenario occurs.

It is not showing as an second computer under Network on my Windows 10 PC.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

Try this

Can't see NAS drives in your network on Windows 10? Here is the solution:
1/ run cmd as admin
2/ sc.exe config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
3/ sc.exe config mrxsmb20 start= disabled
Restart and you are done! 

 

Its also worth setting the drive a static IP in your HUB's interface, stop it wandering off to another IP when you restart the HUB

Have you set a static IP?

Then  run the seagate setup utility again..

If that fails, confirm you are using a HUB3 (you should be if you are a new install) and we can help from there..

Hi

To confirm have gone into the settings and changed the Seagate Central drive till static and done an restore to default settings. There is no actual set up facility that I am aware of. Have also the Seagate discovery tool which confirms there is a network drive found.

I have gone into the hub and confirmed it is a hub 3. The settings showing for the Seagate drive are as follows

unknown
**:**:**:**:**:**
192.168.0.102/24
1000
Ethernet
