Multiple ports in modem mode SH2

I have my SuperHub 2 in modem mode but only one port is active.  Is there a way to get the other 3 ports to also be active or do I need to use a switch off the active port so I can plug in other ethernet cables.

Thanks

Re: Multiple ports in modem mode SH2

Modem mode is only needs to only have one port active, as its function is for you to use your own router kit to manage connected devices.

So you have two choices:

1. Connect your own router to the Hub when it's in modem mode and then connect all your devices to that
2. Put the Hub back in router mode, which will enable the router functions in the Hub, and all the Ethernet ports.

Its Google Wifi so you connect one of the units to the SH2 in modem mode then other units can then be used to extend the wifi coverage.  Does that help?

In that case, you'd need a switch connected to the LAN port on the Google WiFi device:

Re: Multiple ports in modem mode SH2

Thanks for that.  If I put it back in router mode is there a way to still deactivate the wifi as I've got another wifi router but it only has one port so can't do my extra connections there.  Maybe I don't need to deactivate the wifi on the SH2 although I was thinking it may interfere with the other wifi signal.

Any advice much appreciated.

Re: Multiple ports in modem mode SH2

You can't use another router with the Hub in modem mode as they'll conflict - but you can indeed turn off the WiFi separately to the wired ports.

What is the kit you're currently using?

That sounds like a AP not a router so disable the hub wireless in router mode and use your AP for wireless.
