Moving the Hub

Hi. I have just moved to virgin. My hub is downstairs with my main TiVo box. I then have a second TiVo box in my bedroom. Is it possible to move my hub upstairs? So I can have a wired connection to my PS4.

Thanks,
Alex.

Re: Moving the Hub

Will it affect anything? As when it was fitted he asked where I wanted it.

Thanks

Re: Moving the Hub

might affect the levels but until you try you wont know - also depends how all the devices are wired - inputs and splitters - you may be able to do it yourself or you may need a tech to do it - in which case as a non fault it would cost £99

post how everything is wired and you will get better advice

Re: Moving the Hub

So the living room set up is as follows-
Splitter which connects to both hub and TiVo box.
Bedroom set up-
Just TiVo box wired.

Thanks,
Alex

Re: Moving the Hub

how is the bedroom fed - is that from the downstairs splitter or is it split at the omni box

if its the latter then read and note the upstream and downstream levels on the hub - no idea on Tivo i assume that has input levels so read those if you know how - sorry to be vague

remove splitter and add that upstairs - connect upstairs tivo to new splitter and hub - connect downstairs tivo to input and power everything up

check hub levels - they may have altered but as long as downstream is within -6 +10 all should be good - test tivos and hopefully it all will work

screwed connectors want to be finger tight

Re: Moving the Hub

Hi Tony,

I believe that it is split at the omni box. They are at opposite ends of the house so I assume that's the case. How can I check?
Okay, how do I check those levels?

Thanks for your help Tony.

Re: Moving the Hub

Two splitters? I only have the one in the living room at the moment.
