Moving from Domestic to a Business Broadband

I'm thinking to move from Domestic to a Business Broadband. The main reason for this is to get a static IP address. I nearly ordered a new package but I was told that the new router provided will not work as a modem on Static IP.

Is that true?

What I need is quite basic. I have a server which requires:

- port forwarding (at least 20 port)

- IP assignment by MAC address

I know that any cheap router can provide these futures but I read on forum that virgin business router is not easy to configure.

Please help me to decide.

Re: Moving from Domestic to a Business Broadband

Hey kalius,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community Smiley Happy

I appreciate that you've approached the forum to ask this question. I will admit that have little knowledge of the Business side of things, I'm only trained to support residential services, but I'm sure if you get in touch with the Business team they will be able to answer all of your questions. Please take a look at this link for contact methods.

I'll also leave this thread open for other members of the community to jump in with advice.

Thanks again for posting,

Take care.
