Internet Disconnecting every 5-10 minutes for 5 seconds

Yesterday I came across a very annoying fault with my broadband. I'm a cabled customer and what seems to happen is that my internet randomly disconnects for about 3-5 seconds every 5-10 minutes.
This causes huge annoyance at times, especially if I'm trying to watch something that is being streamed. Also, it pretty much makes online games unplayable because of the lag it causes when it happens.
I've checked to see if there's a problem in my area, but there's no problems at all that are related to broadband. I'll be calling tomorrow unless I can find a resolution for my issue here, which I hopefully can as you all seem like very helpful people.
What I've tried so far:
I have used a different router in the house which is connected to BT internet and everything is fine so i have no clue what is wrong
* note: None of the lights on my router change when this happens.
Any help is much appreciated.
Edit: I've done several speedtests and it's all fine, so I honestly can't see anything that's abnormal .
Re: Internet Disconnecting every 5-10 minutes for 5 seconds
can you go to the hubs settings page and don't login but click router status, and past the downstream upstream and network logs, its possibly the power levels are out of whack and its quite common for dropouts like your describing to occur when this is so
