Re: IPV6 support?

I know, no IPV6 and now the Brexit- were doomed, doomed I tell ya!

IPV6 will happen sometime, no idea when though. Look on the bright side, as we are not exactly "early adopters" hopefully the bugs will have been worked out...

Re: IPV6 support?

Can't see it coming here in the very near future. I believe IPv4 addresses are still in abundance in the UK..

Re: IPV6 support?

IPv6 will never happen because ISP equipment for are end in home is so bad it will make things worse.

Re: IPV6 support?

They're not in abundance at all -- there are barely any ISPs that will give you more than a single v4 address in the UK. And even if they were in abundance here it wouldn't matter, since we still need v6 in order to reach all the other people who don't have lots of v4 addresses.

IPv6 will never happen because ISP equipment for are end in home is so bad it will make things worse.

Around 14% of UK internet users (i.e. one in seven) are already using v6. It's happening... just not at VM. (Not due to any failing of the CPE either; as far as I can see the CPE they issue is v6 capable. It's just they still haven't turned it on at the network level, for reasons they seem reluctant to share with us.)

Sky are making good progress rolling out IPV6 to their customers.
