I am getting Post RS Errors.

Are you supposed to get zero Post RS errors? Router been on all day and now Pre RS errors are all in the thousands and Post RS errors are all zero except the first one in the DS-1 column which is at about 3000. Yesterday, after downloading some games to my consoles all the Post RS Error results were in the thousands. I think my power levels are ok, not really sure. Might there be a fault with the service to my home or with my router with these Post RS Errors please? My service status and connection test say everything is normal.

Re: I am getting Post RS Errors.

Hi Mike1982X,

Thanks for letting us know about your issues with Post RS errors, I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I have run some diagnostics from this side and I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, no errors or time outs inside the Hubs logs and all of your power levels are within the preferred ranges.

Are you still having these issues? If so, please post a recent copy of your Hubs logs for me to compare with the data we have here.

Also, when you notice these Post RS errors, does the Hubs light sequence change at all?

Do these issues still occur even when connected directly via ethernet cable?

Speak soon,

Thanks,

Adam.

Hi Mike1982,

Thanks for the swift response, much appreciated!

With regards to your connection, I would suggest monitoring for a few days and if you notice anything out of the ordinary, message me back here and I'll jump back in and take a look for you.

Take care,

Thanks,

Adam.

Re: I am getting Post RS Errors.

... Also, I just checked my Network Log and over the last few days it seems I have a lot of "errors" and "critical" in the Priority column.

Re: I am getting Post RS Errors.

Been playing Battlefield 1 this evening and it seems fine. Yesterday whilst downloading some games on both my Xbox and PS4 at the same time my connection froze up for a couple of minutes then came back on by itself but I thought it might be because I had overloaded the router, or it could be due to a problem with my connection. I just don't like the idea of there being a problem in my Network Log or with these RS Errors which could be fixed even if things seem fine to my untrained eye.

Re: I am getting Post RS Errors.

You should post the power levels, both downstream & upstream. We can only go on the evidence you provide.

In short, apart from the post-RS errors that can occur during a modem reboot (when it hasn't sync'd but data is pouring in), post-RS errors should be zero.

Re: I am getting Post RS Errors.

Thanks I will post them now. I think my Post RS levels were all zero even after reboot, it was some time later they went up. I will include my Network Log.

Re: I am getting Post RS Errors.

The power & SNR levels don't show anything amiss.

Post-RS errors are lost data. If the downloading software uses the TCP protocol, the duff data will be re-requested. If the downloading software uses UDP protocol, the duff data will not be re-requested unless the application itself is checking data integrity and acting to re-reqiest.

So in-flight post-RS errors are not good.
