High latency and Lag when playing games or streaming.

Hi guys, I need your help.

For the better part of last year, I have been having issues with my broadband either being too slow or being very laggy when trying to play games online, stream videos or watch Netflix. I am on the 200MB package and I have called virgin multiple times to fix this issue and it hasn't been fixed yet. Most times when you run a speedtest, the speeds come up in the range of what is expected but when you try to use it, it is super laggy. My PS4 is wired to the router, I have had the router replaced 4 times already in the last 8 months and I have tried port forwarding, disabling firewall, disabling upnp, etc. 3 engineers have already been to the property and nobody has an explanation of what is going on.

 I am thinking of leaving as i haven't found a solution and my contract is up but i thought ill ask you guys and see if anyone has any advise on what to do to resolve this.

Welcome to the forums, I am sorry to see you have had trouble with your connection. 

 

I have taken a look and things look ok from this side from what I can see but I am having a little bit of trouble finding your power levels. 

 

If you could post them up that would help:

 

192.168.0.1 in the browser, log in  Username is admin and the password will be changeme, unless you have changed it.

Go to Advanced settings.

Go to Network Status, copy the results back here.

Got to Net work log, pop those results back here too.

 

Are you using a wired or a wireless connection? 

 

If wireless try wired. Pop the Hub into Modem only mode with the computer in safe mode with networking and let us know if it makes a difference.
