Help - Sonos won't work unless connected by Ethernet

Just got virgin wifi and having issues. My sonos system won't work unless connected via Ethernet cable. The wifi around the house signal is poor. My sons room in which he has his Xbox download speed and wifi is awful. Bought boosters but can't pick up wifi. Thinking of cancelling already. Anyone can help would be grateful

Re: Help

Hi Stu7256,

Welcome to the Community!

Really sorry to hear you're having trouble with your WiFi.

I've attempted to run diagnostics on your equipment but the hub appears to be offline at the moment. Is the hub switched off at your end?

Speak soon Smiley Very Happy

Re: Help - Sonos won't work unless connected by Ethernet

Hi Stu7256,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Fire Stick too.

I'd like you to try running through this checklist to see if it helps you connect your Amazon Fire stick.

Also, I've run diagnostics on your Hub 3.0 and everything is looking healthy at the moment. The WiFi issues you're experiencing are likely environmental factors that are inhibiting the signal.

There are a few different thing you can try to get the best out of your wireless signal. You can also try changing the Hub 3.0 wireless channel to make sure you're on the least congested channel.

I hope this helps! Smiley Very Happy

Josh

The sonos won't work now and it's in the same room as the hub, the signal strength in the other rooms is poor to say the least. On the verge of cancelling as this is a nightmare nothing will work

Re: Help - Sonos won't work unless connected by Ethernet

Hey Stu7256,

Thanks for getting back to us Smiley Happy

Has changing the wireless channel helped at all? You might find that using a wireless network scanner helps you identify the best channel for your area. Additionally, you might need to look into things like wireless range extenders, repeaters and power line adapters to ensure your devices connect with the best performance possible.

Hope you have a great weekend,

Take care.
