Free WiFi Opt in/out Speeds and Channels...

Before I opt in to provide a free WiFi hotspot, I would like to know the following:

How much wifi bandwidth could I potentially lose?

Would I get a wifi speed drop?

Would other channels be used up from an already crowded area?

Thanks

you lose no speed. the hotspot uses its own speed outside your connection. The wifi could slow down but it its not likey unless already in a bad wifi area.

It's pretty crowded as far as channels are concerned, lot's of overlap.

Sorry, I meant wifi speed, not internet speed.

Hello DemonTraitor,

Thanks for joining the community, hope you're well Smiley Happy

As you've been told, your personal connection will be unaffected by WiFi Sharing. We've got a really helpful page here that explains this in more detail. If you scroll down to Your Virgin Media WiFi questions answered, you should find everything you need.

Thanks again for getting in touch, let us know if we can help with anything else.

Take care.
