Drop outs, issues with speed and modem seems to be reset often.

Are these figures normal?Are these figures normal?

So, since having VM installed about 18 months ago, I have been plagued by disconnects, crap speeds, rubbish uploads and until recently MASSIVE issues watching Youtube and the likes.

Everytime I speak to them, they can't see a fault, but the above figures look low (unless you're looking at the errors..) and randomly my router will restart. I have had 3 apparent Service Tech's round, but I am being fobbed off being told everything is fine.. sure, it is fine on that particular day!!!!

Anyone offer any suggestions?

3 of your downstream are a tad high, and SNR is low (but within spec)  which explains the pre RS count. But your post RS count is not rising, so shouldn't really cause major slowdown.

 Set up a BQM

HERE

 Run it for say 24 hrs, and post the result.

 Dont forget youll need to make sure your super hub is configured to reply to ICMP echo requests...As your on HUB 3, switch the firewall off temporarily

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

 

My apologies that you are having an issue with your broadband connection.

 

As Kippies mentioned there is an issue with the downstream power levels and after checking this a few more channels are now getting too high. I would like to arrange for an engineer to check this over and have sent you a PM (purple envelope icon, right corner) with some details for you to confirm please.

I've setup the BQM - nothing populating so far, will give it an hour and see what happens.
Don't like having my Firewall off though.
I have a Hub 2 though.

Having the same problem, constantly dropping out and slowing down.

Had no help from VM yet, thinking of changing provider. The online help has been not working from day one.

Hi envoycdx,

 

Thanks for the reply and posting your BQM graph I appreciate it.

 

The graph is looking good with no errors except for that one jump early in the morning, however there is still an issue with the downstream power levels being too high.

 

If you would like to proceed with an engineer appointment to adjust these, by all means send me a PM with the dates you are available and I can get that booked in for you.
