I am paying for the high-speed 200MBS DOCIS broadband, but over the past 3 weeks I would be lucky to get 2MBS download. I have been regularly testing the speed using speedtest.net and the results are terrible. I have reset the router, gone back to factory defaults etc. but no joy. I have been testing the wireless signal on my Macbook Air, iPad 2 and Samsung S6 Edge. I checked the wired signal on the Macbook but again nowhere near the signal I am paying for! Occasionally I get a speed that I am happy with, but only for a very short period of time. The last speedtest I carried out 20 minutes ago peaked at a download speed of 0.02MBS. Any ideas or is it time to drop Virgin and get another supplier who might give me what I pay for, I can't see Virgin recompensing me for the lost speed! Some results below;
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your connection.
I've run a check on your account and I can see an issue with the network in your area affecting speeds at peak times - Ref.(F004749365). Our technicians are working to get this resolved as soon as possible and have set a review date of 8th February 2017.
I've also picked up an issue with your upstream power levels that will need to be adjusted by a technician. I've sent you a private message (purple envelope at the top right of your screen) so I can arrange an appointment.
Look forward to hearing from you!
